Albagno Hut

A small stone and wood building, the Albagno Hut lies at an altitude of 1,870 m a.s.l on the ridge dividing the Gorduno Valley from the Sementina Valley. This is a very popular hut with the residents of the Bellinzona region. It offers a wonderful evening view of the lights on the valley floor and a stunning morning panorama with the rising sun.
The area is suitable for family hikes (the Gaggio Peak is an ideal destination for children as it can be reached quickly and easily, giving them the opportunity to climb their first peak).
It is possible to hike several traverse trails thanks to the large number of huts concentrated in this area, as well as climb on the numerous crags of the Gorduno Valley in the daytime. In the evening, hike from the Bedretto Mountains (upper Gorduno Valley) to reach the Albagno Hut in 2 hours. The Hut itself is an interesting starting point for the “Verzasca Upper Trail.”
