Cable car - Funivia Monte Carasso Mornera

The cable car has been operating since 1966 and allows access to Mornera in just over 10 minutes.
The cable car can carry a maximum of 8 people or 650 kg. In addition to the stop in Mornera, the route includes two intermediate stops: Curzùtt at 600 metres and Pientina at 1000 metres.

L’impianto è dotato del funzionamento in automatico per trasporti fuori dall’orario di presenza del personale di servizio. Acquistando il biglietto tramite il distributore automatico è infatti possibile recarsi in montagna (tra le 06:30 e le 21:30) o rientrare al piano (anche dopo le 21:30) azionando l’impianto direttamente dalla cabina.

Discounted tickets or discounts by Ticino Ticket, Guest Card and Bellinzona Pass can be obtained only at the Infopoint from 09:00 to 16:00.

Tickets (1 day validity) can be purchased outside Infopoint opening hours at the automatic ticket machine.

Reach the cableway by car

freeway exit A2 Bellinzona Sud
follow the direction Giubiasco
at the first traffic light, turn left direction Sementina
continue on Via al Ticino for approximately 2.1 Km
at the end of via al Ticino turn right, direction Monte Carasso
continue on via el Stradun for approximately 2.1 Km

Parking
Parking spaces in the valley are also very limited so visitors are invited to reach the infopoint by public transport.
It is advisable to use the parking currently open, located in via Er Carà di Sai in Monte Carasso. Look at the map to see more parking lots.
It is forbidden to drive private cars on the hill roads of Monte Carasso and Sementina.

Parking spaces near to the cable car departure are very limited. We therefore advise users, who purchase a ticket online for the cable car ascent or via the shuttle bus service, to reach with a certain advance the boarding points.

A shuttle bus service is available (departure/arrival at the Monte Carasso Infopoint) going uphill to San Defendente (Sementina).
