Capanna Albagno

Small stone and wood building, situated on the ridge that divides the Gorduno Valley from the Sementina Valley, at an altitude of 1870 metres. This hut is particularly popular with the people of Bellinzona, with a wonderful setting in the evening when all the lights of the valley floor can be seen and a suggestive panorama in the morning when the first sun rises.

The region is suitable for family excursions (Monte Gaggio is an easy and short destination, also suitable for children who can climb their first peak).
It is possible to make several crossings thanks to the large number of huts concentrated in this area, as well as day climbing at the numerous crags in the Gorduno Valley. In the evening, a 2-hour walk from the Monti di Bedretto (upper Gorduno Valley) takes you to the Albagno hut. It is an interesting starting point for the “Via alta della Verzasca”.
