Puncète Archeological Zone

After the completion of several projects, the focus is now on the archeological restoration of the settlement of Puncète which, together with the “neighborhoods” of Curzútt, San Barnárd and Pciagn de Rungs, once made up the ancient village of Monte Carasso, the permanent ancestral residence until the 1700s.
The project is supervised by the Cantonal Office for Historic Monuments. Among its goals is the restoration of the grà (ancient chestnut drying hut) which will be put into operation and included in the “chestnut project” aimed specifically at children and schools.
The amount of CHF 402,000 has been budgeted and consists of three separate projects:
– Restoration of the grà;
– Restoration of the archaeological zone;
– Creation of a photographic gallery and exhibitions
